  1. What is the difference between the Visual Link Spanish™ Course and every other course out there?

Most Spanish courses teach a lot vocabulary and grammar rules. But the problem is, when you are done with the course you still can not speak in Spanish.

The Visual Link Spanish™ course teaches you the vocabulary and grammar, but you learn it while learning to build sentences and asking and answering questions. Thus, the end result is you don't just learn the words, you learn how to use the words in everyday speech. You learn key and important questions and phrases which you can use in a real conversation with a native speaker. In short, you learn to communicate in Spanish.

  2. At what level does this course start and end?

The course starts of at a beginner's level. When you finish the course, you will be at an intermediate conversational level. You will be able to carry on a basic conversation with native speakers.

If you've never studied Spanish before, you will spend more time in the beginning lessons until you master the basics. Even in these first lessons you will already be learning how to form sentences and speak in Spanish.

More advanced users can go through the beginning lessons as a review and then quickly move on to new topics and more advanced lessons.

  3. How long does it take to finish the course?

If you spend 30 minutes to an hour a day studying five days a week, it would take you anywhere from 12 to 15 weeks (three to four months) to finish the course.

  4. Can I go through the course at my own speed?

Yes. Every lesson has navigation controls that allow you to stop the lessons, go back and review or skip ahead to something else.

  5. Does the course teach Spanish from Mexico or Spain?

Every word in the course has been picked carefully as a word that will be understood no matter what area or country you are in. However, Maria, the native voice in the course, is a native Mexican so you will learn the Latin American accent.

  6. Is the course equivalent to a college or high school Spanish course?

Yes. This course has been used at both the high school and college levels as curriculum for classes. High schools who use the course normally give 2 years language credit for students who complete the course. At the college level, the course has been used for a conversational Spanish class lasting one semester.

  7. Do the lessons in the course follow the same format as those on the website?

Yes. The lessons on the website are actually taken from the Complete Course. They all follow a similar format.

  8. What is the Conversation Manual?

The Conversation Manual comes with the Complete Course and contains every Spanish word taught in the course. Each section of the interactive lessons has a corresponding page in the Manual.

The Manual can be used as a reference for the computer lessons and the audio CDs. Also, the Manual is small enough to fit in your pocket to take with you for help when you are speaking with native speakers in Spanish

  9. What is the Pronunciation CD-ROM?

The Pronunciation CD-ROM teaches you how to speak and sound like a native. There are 26 total lessons on the CD with over 1,200 interactive buttons modeling correct pronunciation. The pronunciation lessons follow a different format than the other lessons here on the website and include diagrams that show mouth and tongue placement.

Each lesson is dedicated to different sounds in Spanish which are traditionally hard for English speakers to pronounce correctly. These lessons will help you sound like a native speaker and have a native accent.

  10. How do I order the course?
